A Winter Rest Retreat for Mothers

Rest. Learn. Share. Connect.

The Invitation

Motherhood is relentless. Between the mental load, identity shifts, and invisible labour, the weight adds up. You spend your life deciding what everyone else eats, wears, and does. For 48 hours, let us decide for you.

This two-night winter escape is designed exclusively for a small, intimate group of 12 mothers. It is the science of motherhood meeting the art of rest. A place where your nervous system can finally exhale.

  • When: Friday 19 June - Sunday 21 June 2026

  • Where: The beautiful estate Gabion Hill in Glenlyon

The Experience

We weave together two equally important threads: deeply restorative practices to soften the body and reflective workshops to make sense of the inner experience of motherhood. (Every activity is optional)

  • Deep Rest: Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, and guided nature walks.

  • Expert Learning: Evidence-based "Mothermind" workshops that provide the language to explain your experience.

  • Total Nourishment: Delicious vegetarian meals provided by our own Private Chef

  • Genuine Connection: Shared reflections, stories, and solidarity with other mothers

Your Facilitators

This retreat is a collaboration created by mothers, for mothers.

  • Candiece Tappin (Mind Your Mind/Mothermind): A values-driven educator with a background in psychology and motherhood studies. She facilitates the Mothermind sessions on Matrescence (the developmental transition into motherhood) and the Mental Loadhttps://www.mindyourmindhq.com/

  • Emily Gloyns (MEMM Collective): Emily leads the retreat’s restorative practices, guiding nervous system regulation and deep rest through Yoga Nidra, mindfulness meditation and restorative yoga. Her facilitation is body-led and sensory-based, weaving somatic awareness, breath, and subtle energetic cues to help you sink beneath mental noise and return home to yourself. https://www.memmcollective.com.au/

What’s Included

  • 2 Nights of cozy luxurious accommodation.

  • 2 Mothermind Workshops: Exploring identity shifts and practical strategies for the mental load.

  • Restorative Sessions: Mindfulness Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga and Nature Connection practices

  • All-Inclusive Dining: Chef-prepared nourishing meals and snacks.

  • Take-Home Support: A guided journal with prompts and meditation audio.

Forest Bathing & Deep Rest

Forest Bathing & Deep Rest

Step away from the noise and into nature’s embrace.

This 90 minute experience weaves together the grounding benefits of forest bathing with the deeply restorative practice of Yoga Nidra (a lying down meditation). Nestled on private bushland at the edge of Wombat State Forest, you’ll be guided to slow down, connect with the natural world, and return home to yourself.

We begin by arriving slowly, feeling the ground beneath our feet, breathing fresh forest air, and noticing what’s around and within. A gentle and easy walk (~5 minutes) leads us into the heart of the forest. Here, we create our rest nests (with blankets and pillows) among the flora, fungi, and birdsong, and settle into a guided Yoga Nidra practice created with the intention to soothe the nervous system and invite deep, nurturing rest.

What's provided

Yoga mats, cushions, and eye pillows for comfort while resting in the forest.

Freshly brewed herbal tea to enjoy as we gently integrate back into the day.

What to bring

A cosy blanket, a water bottle, and anything else you need to feel comfortable and supported.

All rest-nest items can be transported for you to the site, allowing us to move through the forest with lightness and ease.
