Forest Bathing
Forest bathing, or Shinrin-Yoku, is a Japanese practice of immersing oneself in nature to promote relaxation, rejuvenation, and mental clarity. Rather than a traditional hike, forest bathing is a mindful, unhurried experience focused on deep sensory engagement.
Participants are invited to slow down and connect with the natural world through all five senses, tuning into the sights, sounds, textures, and scents of the forest. Gentle prompts guide them to notice details - the rustling of leaves, the play of sunlight, the scent of earth - encouraging full presence and awareness.
As the experience concludes, participants often feel a profound sense of calm, reduced stress, and increased clarity, leaving them grounded and reconnected with nature.
Forest bathing sessions are hosted on a private property in Ashbourne, 10 minutes from Woodend, within the Macedon Ranges.
